6th period 7th grade orchestra

The Wednesday before break we had a bagel party. The bagels, in our opinion, were scrumptiously tasty, and fantastic-ly delicious. Especially the cinnamon ones. In actual orchestra class, we have been working on our pieces for the next concert and solo ensemble. Some of the pieces are rather challenging, but we are sure that everyone will end up overcoming this obstacle and performing their pieces amazingly spectacularesque. Among the pieces we will be performing as a group are “Arethusa” the story of a naval battle on the sea. The drum adds beautiful tempo and the triangle gives the song a little extra “ping”. Another one is “Nobody Knows” a southern spiritual that is described as both joyous and hopeful and sorrowful, joyful that the slaves will be rescued, and sorrow that they are suffering so. This has been another blog entry by Hazel Winters and Arizona
Spring.

7th grade 2nd period orchestra

These past few weeks we have been working on our chamber music, in small groups and solos. Besides that we’ve been working on our concert pieces: Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen, and Arethusa. Also the black day students have been working on the piece called Ahlan Sabaya Altarah as well as Tuxedo Junction. These pieces are harder than the ones from our last concert, and our standards have been raised since the 2010 concert. We hope our pieces will be perfect by the time of our concert! Wish us luck!!!!!

6th period 7th grade orchestra

Hello fellow readers!!! We are all going to tell you about what we are doing in orchestra. Next week in orchestra we will be starting instead of our small groups we will have Chamber Music. Chamber Music is where we all are going to have a certain group (Jazz, Classical, Solo and Ensemble) and we also are going to learn a certain piece of music. We are also doing pieces as an orchestra. We are playing Tuxedo Junction; Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen, etc. We just started these pieces. Thank you for reading our blog.
Nice day 
Love your orchestra students,
Alex Wirtz
Tricia Jakusz

Taylor Ellison

P.S: We hope you stay tuned and read next week. Positive behavior is the key to happiness and success. Stay in school and don’t do drugs.

7th grade 2nd period orchestra

The concert was really fun and went amazing. We all had a lot of fun and did a fantastic job! We are starting new music and are doing some chamber music. We are really excited for the new songs and some of the pieces we already have are really fun like Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen, and another favorite Arethusa.

Suggestion!
At the end of the year for one of the pieces we should have some people play, and others will play percussion.

For our first concert, we will be playing a series of five pieces. We will be playing at the PAC at 7:00 PM. When we play Sansa Kroma we will not have a conductor and have to follow the beat of the percussion. Only black day students will be playing Sansa Kroma. Black day students will also be playing a piece called Postcards From Russia. After that the orange day students join us and we will play the rest of the pieces. We will be playing 3 pieces all together. We will end the concert with Ridin’ The Rails.
